Josquin Research Project...

The goal of the Josquin Research Project is to facilitate a new kind of knowing that brings “big data” into conversation with traditional analytical methods — a new way to engage with Renaissance music. For the first time this music is fully searchable: in a few clicks you can identify every instance of a given melodic and/or rhythmic pattern. The JRP also provides analytical tools that can be used to gain insight into individual works, the style of a given composer, or the musical lingua franca. PerfomSites developer Ari Salomon worked with designer Jenny Martinez  to implement a minimalistic design that recalls the quiet introspection of some of the music archived by JRP. JPR staff built the functionality that allows users to search and sort and analyze in a visual way.   Visit live...

San Jose Theaters

San Jose Theaters is a project of Team San Jose, a non-profit operations and management company who manages and operates city-owned performing arts venues. San Jose Theaters is responsible for the Montgomery Theater, California Theatre, the San Jose Civic and the Center for the Performing Arts, all located in the heart of downtown San Jose. San Jose Theaters approached Ari Salomon to redesign their site to make it easier to update and promote their ongoing stream of events. Their old site was hard to update and offered few options for the public to view and sort the many events at their 4 venues. The new site allows for sorting and subscribing to events via a variety of criteria and also lets management respond quickly to schedule changes as well as actively promote their rental...

Amy X Neuburg

AMY X NEUBURG (Oakland, California) has been developing her own brand of irreverently genre-crossing works for voice, live electronics and chamber ensembles for over 25 years, known for her innovative use of live looping technology with electronic percussion, her 4-octave vocal range and her colorful — often humorous — lyrics. Amy has had a amazingly full career so far, and her old site lacked the organization and structure to showcase her many compositions, audio, video and history. Retaining a whimsical, quirky quality, Amy’s new site sprinkles colorful images throughout a solid structure which makes finding information about her artistry – past, present, and future – available at a glance.
